award and ms. rico from cesar chavez school. >> good evening president yee, superintendent carandza, number of the board and public. i am honored and proud to award carol wood our secretary at cesar chavez. she has served the district for 20 and a half years. she is bilingual in spanish and american sign language. she's an incredibly cherished and loved member of our community, and she has seen many generations of students and parents, and i am proud and behalf of the community to present this award to her. congratulations carol. by the end of october and in addition to getting the street date all the way from cesar chavez and 16th, which will give muni riders a smoother ride we added bus bowls at 24th to help the boarding process in an area that could be congested. a good project for the city, the impact for us and big benefit for us and looking forward to getting back to mission street at the end of the month. we do have upcoming in a couple of weeks our next and last really big special event we can of the year. weekend of october 6-7, an incredible list of events all coincide on that week. the next round of the americas cup world series, coincides with fleet week in the same area, also the harley -- bluegrass festival, castro st. parade, the cruise ship unloading and loading on that saturday. we have the grand opening of the -- in union square. we have football game, 49ers against the bills. a white likely be giants will be in town with a playoff. an incredible amount. >> [ off mic ] >> absolutely. there's a map that shows some of the special event and you can see there is a significant concent
cesar chavez street for use as offices, a restaurant and other services relating to bca's mission, for a term of 60 months, with one 36-month term extension option at port's sole discretion. >> commissioners, jeffery bower, port leasing manager, seeking your approval as read by the commission secretary. the black coalition and aids, bca is dedicate today reducing the health disparities in the black community, particularly the spread of hiv and aids. bac was founded in 1986 with the idea of promoting health education advocacy services in the black community. in september 2012, bca made an unsolicited offer to the port to lease 601 cesar chavez for the relocation of their administrative offices and other activities related to bca's mission. and possibly develop a restaurant and cafe. on april 12 -- i'm sorry, on april 10, 2012, this commission authorized staff to put out an rfp or request for public offering for a restaurant renovation and operator. the port, we did extensive advertising, extensive outreach, and we received no offers. the building has been vacant for seven years. i
schools. we have earmarked a couple schools under that funding, which is thurgood marshal, cesar chavez and downtown high school. between the money we do have from the hetch hetchy and money available from transbay funding we can do more schools. >> in terms of allocations, this is a partnership, we have efficiency or renewal projects with city facilities as well. how do you sort of all -- allocate that scarce money to get us to be less reliable on energy. >> you mean allocated between schools and other city departments? is that the question? >> right. >> that is a matter of prioritizing projects. so on the renewable side we have potential portfolio projects we are looking at on city properties and the schools. we go through a process there where we look at roofs of buildings of a structurally sound electrical system in the building. support the system and so forth. we come up with a list of buildings. then within that framework, then depending on project and depending on funding we select the project to fund. >> is it tied into what people pay i want the system? the school pays for en
